The painting Loki is an original work created by Carol Anna Fullerton Samsel, an artist residing in Haskell, Arkansas. Artist grade paint was used to create this 16" H x 20” W piece, which has been sealed with Lascaux Transparentlack 2-UV varnish to reduce fading and protect the painted surface from minor abrasions.
The substrate is 10 ounce, 100% cotton duck canvas that has been double‑primed with acid‑free titanium gesso. The solid pine stretcher bars were kiln-dried to reduce warpage over time.
The work was created in 2007, and is signed CafSamsel on the front. The back edge of the canvas is also signed Carolanna Fullerton Samsel. It was exhibited during a solo exhibition at the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library (Benton AR) in 2009.
Although UV resistant materials were utilized, all artwork is subject to deterioration over time. To increase longevity, never display the work in direct sunlight or under bright fluorescent lighting. The surface is best cleaned with a soft cotton cloth.
